NEW BUSINESS - CALLING CARD

I've just been working as hard as I can to get as many new listings on Etsy as possible - with this baby coming I can probably assume I'm going to be running on empty in a couple of weeks, so might as well accomplish as much as I can now! I was in desperate need of a business card for Downtown Paper & Press - time to begin the guerrilla marketing....I haven't had time to photograph the final print of the card yet, that will come this evening - but for now I will share the digital file....

NEW ART PRINTS ON ETSY

I decided to expand my Etsy store by including fine art prints...all are printed as 8 x 10's on premium matte photo paper. I did some test prints this weekend and the quality is just suberb, I couldn't be happier!
I will continue adding to the photography prints as I take pictures that I like...the bible verse print will be part of a series that I am going to start. I wanted to provide cool and modern prints to people so they have a way to display the verses that are most special to them.

MY CHAMPION

This weekend my husband and I traveled to Walled Lake, Michigan for his first jiu-jitsu tournament....it was a lot of fun! I thought he deserved some recognition so here is a shot of him right after he submitted his opponent in his second match.

MOTHER STORK'S BABY BOOK

As some of you may know, I have a little bun of my own in the oven. My new little baby boy will be here in just a few weeks and I have had my eye on this beautiful baby book for quite some time....truly a keepsake. The book is published by Kistner Supply, I encourage you to visit their website and read the full story of how the company came to be....but to make a long story short, the author, Elizabeth Brantley, discovered her grandmother's Mother Stork baby book (1904 edition) and made it her mission to re-create the book so it would be translatable in today's world. And so the 100th anniversary edition was born in 2005, with many of the original illustrations that were used in 1904. I really can't wait to get my own!

Alicia is one of my absolute all-time favorites on Etsy.  Her photographs are magical....and so calming I could look at them all day.  I  think I just might....

LONG TIME GONE....AGAIN

I haven't posted in a really long time, but I've decided it's time to jump back in - I'm getting ready to launch my store on Etsy in the next couple of weeks, and this blog is such a great way to get inspiration daily...so I'm back!

Last week while my husband was agonizing over the bar exam I was able to spend some quality time in Indianapolis....here are some of my favorites from my trip.

If you are as big into antique hunting as I am, you have to check out the Midland Arts & Antique warehouse on the Southeast side of town. I spent a few hours browsing the hundreds of vendors that are showcased here. Truly a gem!

I also had the opportunity to visit Dolphin Papers & Art Supply located in the Murphy Art Center in the cultural Fountain Square district on the south side of Indianapolis.

They had a wonderful selection of paper, I was in heaven...unfortunately in the area where I live there really isn't an art supply store close by. Normally I have to rely on ordering over the internet, so being able to actually physically touch and see the different papers they had to offer was really great!

Ryan and I also had the opportunity to eat at H20 Sushi in Broadripple and it was amazing. Best sushi we have had in a long time. One of the owners is a trained pastry chef, if you don't stuff yourself with their sushi you HAVE to order dessert! We ordered two hot Oatmeal Maple Pecan cookies that came with a side of espresso whipped cream that you melt over the top of the cookies....mmmm it was divine. The dining room looks and feels like an art gallery and the service was great. We will definitely eat here again and again!
